Delta Insurance New Zealand has designated Charlie Hammond as an Auckland-based liability underwriter, the insurer announced in a LinkedIn post on 5 December.

Hammond most recently worked for AIG New Zealand as junior underwriter, specialising in financial lines and casualty, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also previously served as claims specialist at Apex Insurance and claims administrator at Tower Insurance.

In his new role, Hammond will focus on building expertise in PI, cyber, and product recall, the managing general agent (MGA) said.

He brings a strong foundation in liability underwriting, supported by experience across sales, distribution, teaching, claims, and underwriting support, according to Delta Insurance New Zealand’s official website.

Hammond’s designation comes after Emily Mitchell and Nicky Mitchell’s promotion as property underwriters for the MGA’s Auckland Property team in November and Olivia Cummings’ appointment as liability underwriter for its Central North Island operations in October.
