Aon on Thursday announced that James Harmer has returned to the business as Head of Global and Corporate for its Australia business, effective immediately.
Sydney-based Harmer will report to Kevan Johnston, CEO of Australia and, in his new role, leads a team of more than 170 staff to “execute Aon’s national strategy for the segment, drive strategic growth initiatives, and ensure excellence in client service delivery,” the broker said. He will also join the Australian Executive Leadership Team.
Harmer moves from Marsh, where he was Managing Director and Risk Management Leader for New South Wales. He began his career at Aon in London as a broker on the Political Risk and Structured Credit team, before moving to roles at JLT and Marsh.
“James brings a rare combination of strategic vision, operational discipline and deep client insight to this role”, Johnston said. “His energy and leadership will be instrumental in driving our Global and Corporate business forward and further enhance the value we bring to clients.”
