Aon has promoted Anita Vivekananda to managing director of transaction solutions for Asia-Pacific, according to a LinkedIn post by Murray Wood, the company’s specialty products leader for Asia-Pacific, on Wednesday.

Vivekananda has been with the broker since 2015 and most recently served as head of transaction solutions at AMATS Pacific and as APAC senior leader. She has more than 17 years of legal and insurance experience. She also brings expertise in transaction liability insurance solutions, including warranty and indemnity, tax, litigation, and contingent risk insurance.

“Anita will continue to play a pivotal role in leading our transaction solutions practice across the region, building on her previous position … She will further strengthen the support we provide to our private equity, financial sponsor, and corporate clients on complex and time-critical transactions across Asia-Pacific,” Wood said in the announcement.

Before joining Aon, Vivekananda practised corporate law at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Gilbert + Tobin in Sydney, where she advised on public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), initial public offerings, joint ventures, and capital restructures.

Vivekananda’s promotion comes amid a broader run of leadership moves at Aon, including George Attard becoming global head of analytics for reinsurance solutions, Markus Poh joining as transaction solutions director for Asia, and Quinton Kotze becoming head of cyber solutions in Australia.

The move also also takes place amid intensified competition for transactional risk talent in Asia, following Howden’s recent expansion of its regional M&A insurance team with 12 hires across Singapore, Greater China and Japan, many of them from Aon.
