Aviso Specialty on Wednesday launched its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) practice while appointing Kane Sim as the unit’s head, the business announced on LinkedIn.
Sim joins from Marsh McLennan, where he was most recently head of M&A for Pacific. He brings over 20 years of experience across insurance, M&A, and law, and has advised on hundreds of deals across the region. He has also had prior stints at PwC and Keddies Lawyers.
The Ardonagh Group-backed broker’s new practice adds dedicated capabilities in transactional risk and private equity advisory, supporting clients across the full investment lifecycle — including warranty and indemnity, tax, and contingent risk solutions.
Commenting on Sim’s appointment, Aviso Specialty CEO Josh Roach said: “Kane brings exactly the type of specialist leadership we’re building across the business — combining technical excellence with a strong track record of delivering outcomes for clients.”
The developments come after Aviso’s appointment of Roach and addition of Paul Marsden to its board as executive director of broking. They also follow a hiring sweep by the company in February that added 21 new roles, with most talents coming from rival broker Lockton.
