Allianz Commercial has appointed Karol Dobias as Global Head of Multinational, effective 1 June 2026, as it continues to scale its multinational insurance platform for globally active corporate clients, including those expanding across Asia-Pacific.
Dobias succeeds Guy Money, who was appointed Regional Managing Director for Iberia in March, and will report to Jeremy Sharpe, Chief Distribution Officer at Allianz Commercial.
Having joined Allianz in London in 2003, he has held underwriting, partnership and regional sales roles across Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong. In the early 2010s, he led commercial lines underwriting at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, before moving into regional leadership roles within Allianz Automotive, where he served as Head of Sales and the ASEAN business unit. In that role, he worked on developing and steering automotive insurance products across markets including Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and India.
Over the past six years, Dobias has held senior leadership roles within Allianz Commercial’s Multinational unit and was part of the core team that established Multinational as a standalone global function. Most recently, he led the launch of the Multinational Excellence Center in Madrid in Q1 2026, which is intended to support large corporate programmes through specialised expertise, data and process centralisation.
His immediate priorities will include advancing its client‑centric multinational offering, driving growth through an expertise‑led approach, deploying technology at scale and expanding the recently launched Multinational Excellence Center in Madrid.
Jeremy Sharpe said Dobias had played a key role in shaping the Multinational business and broader organisation over many years. “Karol has been an instrumental part of Multinational and our wider business for many years. I am very happy to welcome him to my leadership team, so we can further establish our Multinational business as a global growth driver for Allianz Commercial,” Sharpe said.
