Tysers Singapore has appointed Prantika Sengupta as director of marine claims and client relations, the specialty broker announced on Monday.
Sengupta brings 15 years of experience across maritime law, insurance and reinsurance, claims management and dispute resolution. She joins Tysers from Sealead Shipping, where she served as global director of legal. Before that, Sengupta was deputy general counsel and head of claims and insurance for APAC at CMA CGM.
In her new role, Sengupta will report to Chris Sydenham, chairman of claims at Tysers, and work closely with Marlena Truszczynska, head of shipping claims in London.
William Furness-Smith, who was recently named interim CEO of Tysers Singapore, said Sengupta’s “exceptional market standing and extensive expertise in marine claims” would strengthen the broker’s capabilities across APAC during a period of growth.
“As we continue to broaden our insurance and reinsurance offering, her leadership and technical knowledge will be instrumental in enhancing the service and value we provide to clients throughout the region,” he said.
Furness-Smith has been with Tysers since 2015 and was promoted to CEO of its Singapore operations in June.
