Lockton India has appointed Nitin Verma to lead its professional and executive risk practice, expanding his responsibilities while retaining his current role as head of growth for the company’s Corporate Solutions Group, the broker announced.
The appointment comes amid rising demand for protection against directors’ and officers’ liability, professional indemnity, cyber and other executive risk exposures, Lockton said. The broker also described the business line as a “strategically important pillar” and “a key driver of future growth in India”.
Verma will oversee the development of the professional and executive risk practice while continuing to drive growth initiatives across the broader corporate solutions business.
The broker said Verma’s “proven leadership, strong commercial acumen, and deep understanding of client needs position him exceptionally well to lead the next phase of growth for the practice.”
The appointment adds to a series of leadership hires at Lockton India this year. In February, the broker appointed Renuka Nar as head of life and health reinsurance for India. It subsequently named Jaideep (Jay) Sharma as CEO of India and most recently strengthened its transaction liability practice with the appointment of transactional lawyer Shrungar Bhuva as vice president.
