AIG has promoted Pongprat Suwan to country head, trade credit for Thailand, the insurer announced on Wednesday.
Based in Bangkok, Pongprat will lead underwriting and operational strategies and oversee the commercial and underwriting priorities, including distribution, partnerships and business development.
He has spent more than 15 years at AIG in Thailand, joining the insurer in 2011 and serving as deputy head of middle market, Asia-Pacific since March 2024.
“I am confident that, under Pong’s expert leadership, AIG Trade Credit Thailand will continue delivering market-leading, innovative solutions, exceptional service, and outstanding support to our clients and broker partners,” Corine Troncy, AIG’s global head of trade credit, said.
The appointment follows two senior exits from AIG’s regional trade credit team this year. James Yau, previously head of trade credit for Asia-Pacific, rejoined Coface as head of commercial for Southeast Asia and head of mid-market for Asia-Pacific on 5 June. Priscilla Ng, formerly head of sales for AIG’s Asia-Pacific trade credit unit, joined Coface as commercial director for Singapore in March.
