Cowden Insurance Brokers has appointed Barry Drinkwater as general manager, Western Australia, strengthening its local leadership, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Drinkwater brings over 15 years of industry experience to Cowden, having held senior executive and national leadership roles across insurance broking and underwriting.

He joins from 360 Underwriting Solutions, where he was regional manager for Western Australia. Before that, he held senior managerial roles at Marsh Advantage Insurance and QBE Insurance.

With the latest appointment, Drinkwater joins Cowden’s national leadership team.

She was appointed alongside Paul Shand who joined as chairman of the board after leading many businesses in the insurance and professional services sector.

Cowden is an insurance broking and risk advisory firm based in Western Australia. Operational since 1972, it has served over 7000 clients across offices in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
