Marsh Asia has appointed Toshiyuki Okuyama as global client director for its people and investments division in Japan, the global broker announced on Monday.
“In his new role, Toshi will be responsible for strengthening strategic client relationships and helping to bring together the full breadth of Marsh’s capabilities for major Japanese multinational clients across the region,” the broker said in its LinkedIn post.
Toshi is a senior financial services and client leadership executive with more than 30 years of experience spanning corporate and investment banking, insurance, and professional services, Marsh said.
Before joining Marsh, Okuyama served as Japan head of the enterprise client group at Aon, where he managed strategic relationships with Japanese multinational clients and coordinated capabilities across the organisation.
Earlier in his career, he held senior positions at major financial institutions including J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and MUFG, according to his LinkedIn profile.
This year, Marsh has made several leadership appointments across its Asia Pacific operations, including naming Anna Scott as chief executive officer (CEO) of Marsh New Zealand, succeeding Toni Ferrier, who stepped down from the role at the end of August.
Last month, the global broker added three professionals to its Asia renewable energy team, while earlier this year, Gabe Money was promoted to risk consulting leader in New Zealand, after four years with the firm.
