Wynnie Yeung has been appointed vice chair of the Implementation Assessment Committee (IAC) at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), the organisation said in a LinkedIn post on 2 October.

Yeung joined the Hong Kong Insurance Authority (IA) as a senior manager in 2017 and currently serves as associate director for group-wide supervision of long-term business.

She began her regulatory career with Hong Kong’s Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority in 2000. During her 17 years there, she held managerial roles spanning investment regulation and compliance approvals, with responsibilities covering trustee and scheme oversight, investment products, disclosure standards and market reform initiatives. She also worked at Towers Watson (formerly Towers Perrin) earlier in her career.

“In this role, Wynnie will support the IAIS in maintaining the globally consistent and effective implementation of supervisory standards”, the organisation said on LinkedIn.

Yeung’s appointment follows the IAIS’s implementation of its revised committee structure, which took effect on 1 January. Earlier this year, the association named Gerry Cross as its next secretary general.

In November 2025, the IAIS announced that the newly established IAC would focus exclusively on assessing the globally consistent and comprehensive implementation of IAIS standards.
