Willis Re has appointed Kevin Chin as senior vice president, the reinsurance broker announced on LinkedIn on Thursday.

Based in Singapore, Chin joins after spending over a year at Gallagher Re, most recently serving as an executive director. He moved into reinsurance broking in 2019 and previously held roles at Aon and Munich Re.

Chin has experience in designing and placing complex, multi-line reinsurance programmes, combining technical acumen, market knowledge and reinsurer relationships to deliver solutions for clients.

“Kevin’s experience on the reinsurer side gives him real insight into what makes a programme work, and he brings that perspective to every client he advises,” said Lucy Clarke, a board member at Willis Re. She added that his track record of leading RFP processes would be instrumental as the broker continues to expand its presence across Asia.

Chin’s appointment is the latest in a series of senior hires by Willis Re this year as the company strengthens its Asian operations. Recent additions include Neil Eckert as chief executive officer and Richard Jones as head of Asia operations.

Separately, the broker launched a global life reinsurance practice in July in response to growing demand for risk transfer, capital management, and balance sheet optimisation solutions.
