Utmost has appointed Natalie Yeo as head of high-net-worth (HNW) underwriting, effective 6 October 2026, the company announced on Wednesday.
Based in Singapore, Yeo joins after two years at AIA, where she most recently worked in HNW broker and international wealth underwriting. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership and underwriting roles with global firms including Reinsurance Group of America, Transamerica, Swiss Re China Branch Beijing and Munich Re.
Yeo brings over 25 years of insurance and reinsurance leadership experience across Asia. Her appointment is expected to support Utmost’s HNW underwriting business and the expansion of its Variable Universal Life (VUL) offering in Asia, the company said in a press release.
Mark Christal, head of Asia at Utmost, said, “Natalie’s regional underwriting expertise and strong broker relationships will be instrumental as we accelerate our growth plans and strengthen our position as a leading provider of open-architecture insurance-based wealth solutions in Asia.”
The hire comes as competition intensifies in Asia’s HNW insurance market, with insurers racing to attract wealthy, globally mobile clients through larger underwriting capacity, integrated cross-border platforms and broader wealth management capabilities.
The past year has seen a wave of strategic moves across the region. In late July, Sun Life consolidated its HNW operations across Bermuda, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai to launch Sun Life Private Wealth. In June, AXA launched AXA Global Private, bringing together life, wealth, health and speciality insurance under a single platform.
