Aon has officially announced the appointment of Vincent Banton as their new head of Construction and Infrastructure for Asia.

Banton relocated from Sydney to Singapore for the new role, which he assumed on August 1st — reporting to Paul Young and James MacNeal.

In a statement, Aon said “We are thrilled to have Vincent on the Aon team. His deep experience in both the insurance and construction industries will further strengthen Aon’s capabilities to help clients make better decisions as they navigate the volatility and unpredictability of the market.”

Prior to his move to Aon, Banton worked at Zurich Insurance for five years, most recently as National Technical Manager for Australia and New Zealand. Over his 23-year career, Banton has gathered extensive experience in the insurance and construction industries. Some of his prominent roles have been at Munich Reinsurance, Balfour Birse UK, Leighton Contractors Australia (CIMIC), and Broad Construction Australia.

Aon stated that Banton’s expertise lies in Construction and Erection All Risk policies, as well as Delay in Start-Up for instances of business interruption. He has extensive experience in constructing large infrastructure programmes and has delivered projects including highways, airports, and bridges.

On the new role, Banton, commented, “Rapid urbanisation, infrastructure development and foreign investments will make Asia one of the fastest-growing construction markets over the next 15 years. I’m excited to join the Aon team as the firm continues to innovate and combine advanced data with analytical solutions, providing our clients with better advice.”
