Dubai-based specialty managing general agent elseco Group has expanded into Asia with the opening of a new Singapore office led by Lisa Leow as head of accident and health (A&H), Asia.

elseco Asia will operate under the Lloyd’s Asia Scheme and initially offer facultative A&H reinsurance cover across the region, the company announced on Thursday.

The cover includes personal accident, emergency medical and repatriation, travel, income protection and occupational risks.

A&H is an established line in elseco’s global portfolio and the Singapore office will provide insurers and brokers with local access to the group’s underwriting capacity.

“Asia is the next step for elseco. Lisa brings specialist accident and health reinsurance closer to the insurers and brokers who need it. Singapore is where it starts,” said Laurent Lemaire, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, elseco Group.

Leow joins elseco from Delta Underwriting, where she most recently served as Asia head of A&H. She previously held A&H roles at HDI Global, Starr Insurance Companies, QBE Asia, Zurich Insurance and AIG.

“I look forward to bringing new opportunities to the business as we embark on our Accident & Health market footprint in the region through reinsurance solutions and partnerships,” Leow said.
