HDI Global SE Singapore (HDI) has marked its expansion into the accident & health market in Asia with the appointment of Lisa Leow as Underwriting Manager.

She will be based in Singapore and have a dual reporting line to Graham Silton—HDI’s Managing Director and Principal Officer in Singapore—and Chris McDowell, HDI Global SE’s Underwriting Manager, Accident & Health Australasia.

Leow brings over two decades of industry experience to the new role, where she will be tasked with establishing the firm’s accident & health presence in this sector.

Her professional journey reflects the substantial expertise she has gained in Asia. She joins HDI Global from Starr Insurance Companies, where she was Head of Accident & Health and her career includes tenures with QBE Asia, Zurich, and more than ten years at AIG.

Silton expressed optimism about Leow’s appointment, commenting, “I am delighted to welcome Lisa to HDI, with her proven track record and capabilities, she will be invaluable to the business as we enter the Asian Accident & Health market.”

McDowell added, “With Lisa we have gained a proven expert to position HDI Global as a reliable partner in the Accident & Health sector in Asia.”

Commenting on her new role, Leow highlighted the opportunity to extend HDI’s market influence as a key factor. “HDI has a strong and growing reputation in Asia and I’m looking forward to bringing new opportunities to the business as we grow our Accident & Health market footprint in the region.”

The addition of accident & health complements HDI’s portfolio in Asia, which spans property, casualty, engineering, marine & cargo, power & energy, and political & credit risk lines of business.
