Arch Insurance International today announced that Barbara Rizzi has been promoted to the position of Chief Claims Officer with immediate effect. 

Rizzi has been with the company since 2013 and steps into her new role with over two decades of experience in claims management and legal practice.

In her new role, she will oversee the claims function and strategy across Arch Insurance International’s operations, which include the London Market, the UK Regional Market, Australia, and the EU. She will operate from the London office, reporting directly to Kirsten Valder, Deputy CEO of Arch Insurance International.

Before her promotion, Rizzi held the position of Head of Third-Party Claims at Arch. Her career prior to joining Arch included roles at law firms Clyde & Co LLP and Kennedys Law LLP, where she specialised in insurance law. She also has a background as a solicitor in England & Wales and Italy.

Kirsten Valder, Deputy CEO, commented, “Barbara is a highly respected leader and claims practitioner with deep legal and technical claims expertise. Over the past decade, she has played an integral role in elevating Arch’s claims performance and has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to delivering a positive claims experience for our customers and brokers. I am sure that under Barbara’s leadership we will continue to deliver and enhance our solution-focused and relationship-driven claims service.”

Rizzi is also Co-Chair of the UK Women & Allies Network, an initiative that focuses on the career progression of women within the Arch through various support mechanisms, including networking, mentorship, and sponsorship.
