Matt Graves has been promoted to Chief Claims Officer for Singapore at Zurich, the insurer announced on Monday (27 May).

In his new role, Graves will have enterprise-wide responsibilities for all claims functions across Zurich Singapore’s Commercial and newly launched Retail segment, the insurer said.

He reports directly to Liam Burrell, CEO of Singapore and Head of Commercial Insurance Asia, and, as part of his new responsibilities, will join Zurich Singapore’s Executive Committee.

Graves brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held roles at Allianz, Suncorp, and Zurich. He joined Zurich in 2016 as the Team Leader for the Major Loss Property team in Australia. Most recently, he led the Short-Tail Lines Claims business for Singapore, overseeing property, global energy, construction, and marine teams regionally.

Burrell commented, “I am pleased to have a seasoned claims executive of Matt’s calibre take on this critical role. Zurich is focused on delivering our customers and partners an efficient and smooth claims experience, and Matt’s significant operational and technical expertise will further enhance our claims proposition and performance.”
