Allianz Commercial has appointed Barbara Williams as Regional Managing Director Finance for Asia, effective from 1 August 2024, subject to regulatory approval, the insurer has announced.
She will be based in Singapore and report directly to Oskar Buchauer, Allianz Commercial’s Chief Financial Officer, with a matrix reporting line to Christian Sandric, Regional Managing Director, Allianz Commercial Asia.
In her new role, Williams will manage core financial functions across Asia and her responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with local regulatory financial reporting requirements, adhering to Global Finance Processes & Standards, and overseeing risk management, the insurer said in an announcement.
Williams brings over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry to her new role and has been serving as the Director of Finance for Allianz Commercial Canada Branch since October 2020. Before her time at Allianz, she had held various leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer for Starr Insurance and Reinsurance in Toronto.
