Stuart Routledge has joined HDI Global as NSW Marine Underwriting Manager, the company announced in a statement on LinkedIn.

Routledge brings extensive marine insurance experience to the role and joins HDI from RedSky Insurance, where he served as Senior Marine Underwriter for over three years.

Based in Sydney, he will report to Joel Mitchell, Marine Underwriting Manager for Australasia.

“Stuart joining our team in NSW adds another well-known and trusted Underwriter to our regional spread of marine professionals,” Mitchell said. “With Stuart’s variety of roles, especially on the broking side, he brings a proactive perspective to risks clients have and different ways to provide solutions, which certainly compliments the HDI approach.”

Before his role at RedSky Insurance, Routledge held various positions, including NSW Marine Manager for Marine Specialty Risks at QBE Insurance, Senior Marine Underwriter at National Transport Insurance, and Senior Marine Underwriter at CGU Insurance.

His career spans over 20 years in the insurance industry, covering broking, distribution, and marine underwriting/management roles.

“I am excited to join the evolution of the HDI Marine team as it continues its journey of profitable growth throughout Australia,” Routledge said. “I feel HDI is the perfect environment to progress with my career and look forward to building and expanding upon HDI’s established partnerships.”
