Phuong Ly has been appointed as Managing Director at Allianz Commercial UK, effective 3 April.
Prior to the promotion, Ly has been with Allianz since 2021 and currently serves as Chief General Manager for Allianz Commercial Australia.
In his new role with the UK team, Ly will be reporting to Colm Holmes, the CEO of Allianz Holdings UK, and Dirk Vogler, the Chief Regions Officer International of Allianz Commercial.
He will be responsible for the commercial insurance business of Allianz in the UK, which spans digital, mid-market and large-corporate, engineering inspection, legal protection, and fleet business.
Ly brings over two decades of industry experience. He has worked in executive roles in distribution and underwriting in firms across Australia, including QBE Insurance, IAG, and Munich Re, among others.
Talking about Ly’s appointment, Holmes said, “It’s great to have Phuong join us. His current role in Australia means he’s expertly positioned to build an even stronger and fully unified team to serve all our commercial brokers and clients in the UK.
Vogler also commented, “Drawing on his existing experience managing the Australia region I know he will play a key role bringing our Allianz Commercial model in the UK market to the next level.”
