Allianz partners names dominic gantner as md for greater southeast asia

Allianz Partners has appointed Dominic Gantner as Managing Director for Greater Southeast Asia (GSEA), effective 1 March, the company announced in a statement. Gantner succeeds Steve Watkins, who is retiring after over 20 years with the company.

Gantner joined Allianz Partners in 2019 and has held roles such as Chief Sales Officer and Managing Director for Southeast Europe. In its announcement, Allianz Partners credited Gantner for his role in transforming the region from a traditional travel insurance operation to a multi-line business, achieving growth across 12 markets.

In his new role, Gantner will oversee the company’s operations across GSEA and reports to Vinay Surana, Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa.

Surana welcomed Gantner’s appointment, adding that “Dominic brings extensive leadership experience and a proven track record of driving growth and innovation across diverse markets.”

Before Allianz Partners, Gartner held leadership roles in the insurance and finance sector in Germany, the UK, and Austria. His experience includes expanding business segments such as Mobile Device and Digital Risk, Roadside Assistance, and Mobility.

Speaking on his new role, Gartner said he was “honoured to step into this role and continue Steve Watkins’ outstanding work in the region.” He added he will have a focus on building sustainable growth, fostering collaboration across markets, and delivering innovative solutions in the GSEA region.

Surana also thanked the retiring Watkins, commenting, “I would also like to thank Steve for his long service and outstanding contribution to our business, culture, and colleagues in the region.”

Allianz Partners is a global provider of B2B2C insurance and assistance services, operating in over 75 countries with 21,900 employees. The company handles over 72.5 million cases each year.
