Prudential’s asset management business Eastspring Investments has appointed Salman Haider as Chief Executive Officer of Eastspring Singapore and Head of ASEAN, in a newly expanded leadership role, subject to regulatory approval.

Haider will continue in his current position as Chief Distribution Officer, reporting to Bill Maldonado, CEO of Eastspring Investments Group.

He will oversee Eastspring’s operations in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia and be responsible for advancing regional business strategy and client engagement.

Haider, based in Singapore, joined Eastspring in March 2024 as Chief Distribution Officer. His existing remit covers global distribution and management of the firm’s relationships with Prudential Life, as well as oversight of the Japan and Americas markets.

Commenting on the appointment, Maldonado noted that Haider had contributed to client relationship development since joining the firm. “Salman will be pivotal in driving business growth and strengthening our presence in ASEAN. This appointment reflects our focus in bringing together our talent, expertise and synergies to deliver greater value for our business and our clients,” he added.

Haider has more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector across Asia and EMEA, spanning wealth management, retail banking, corporate banking, and global markets. He previously held senior positions at Citi, J.P. Morgan, Barclays Private Bank, and Habib Bank AG. He holds an MSc in Finance from Cass Business School.
