Eastspring Investments has appointed Ghislain Périssé as head of insurance solutions, a newly created role, the US$269bn asset management arm of Prudential plc announced this week.

Based in Singapore and effective 24 Aug, Périssé reports to Salman Haider, who joined last year as chief distribution officer, head of ASEAN and CEO of Eastspring Singapore.

Périssé will lead the development and commercialisation of Eastspring’s insurance solutions capability, focused on helping insurers with asset-liability management, capital efficiency, income generation and sustainable investing outcomes.

“Insurers across Asia are navigating increasingly complex investment, capital and balance-sheet challenges, and they need partners who understand both their investment objectives and the regulatory environment they operate in,” Haider said. “Our ambition is to be the trusted partner to insurers across Asia.”

Périssé joins from Fidelity International, where he was global head of insurance solutions for EMEA and APAC. He earlier helped build insurance solutions capabilities at Schroders and AXA Investment Managers, and held quantitative research and structured solutions roles at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Société Générale Asset Management Alternative Investments.

The hire follows Eastspring’s appointment of Fanny Lee as head of intermediary sales for Hong Kong in May.
