Jonathan Yang has assumed the role of Director for Asia Pacific Facultative Reinsurance at Howden Re, the firm announced on Friday, 29 August.

Singapore-based Yang moves from Marsh, where he spent over four years. He brings over two decades of industry experience in the Asia Property and Casualty insurance market, including an extensive background in wholesale and facultative business, having worked in major broking firms across Taiwan, China, and Singapore.

In his new role, Yang will report to Cynthia Cui, Managing Director and Head of APAC Facultative Reinsurance at Howden Re.

Commenting on the appointment, Cui underscored Yang’s deep understanding of Asia’s facultative needs and strong relationships as crucial in Howden Re’s regional expansion. “We are confident that Jonathan will strengthen our ability to deliver client-focused, local solutions, supported by our global expertise.”

The announcement follows key personnel changes within Howden Re over the past two months, including Candy Wong as Head of Treaty and Roy Wong as Managing Director in Hong Kong.
