Howden has appointed Maisie Ng as director, structured credit, North Asia, as it continues to expand its capabilities in the region, Edmund Arghand, the broker’s head of credit, political risk and surety for Asia, announced in a LinkedIn post.
Based in Hong Kong, Ng brings more than 15 years of banking and finance experience, with expertise in credit risk insurance and loan syndication.
She joins Howden from Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, where she served as senior vice president, private debt mobilisation, Asia Pacific. She has also held roles at Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, ANZ, JPMorgan Chase, Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch.
In her new role, Ng will support the expansion of Howden’s structured credit offering across North Asia, working with financial institutions that are increasingly using credit risk insurance solutions to manage risk exposures, distribute loan portfolios and create new lending capacity, Arghand said.
“With deep market expertise and a strong track record in the sector, Maisie will focus on business development and strategic relationship management as we continue to strengthen Howden’s presence and capabilities across this important region,” he added.
The appointment adds to Howden’s recent run of activity across Asia. The broker expanded its Hong Kong team with four senior appointments, and Joaquin Carlos Uy returned to Howden Philippines as financial lines leader.
The broker has also climbed to eighth place in AM Best’s global broker ranking, on the back of acquisitions and international expansion.
