Swiss Re has appointed Sunayana Mahansaria as Head of Life & Health Reinsurance, India, according to a LinkedIn announcement by Liem Phan, Director and Market Head L&H South East Asia and India.

Mahansaria has been with Swiss Re since 2021 and prior to that she spent nearly a decade at Munich Re, where she held senior actuarial and marketing positions, including Chief Marketing Actuary for India. Her earlier career included actuarial and analytical roles at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company in India and Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong.

Commenting on Mahansaria’s appointment, Phan said: “India plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Life & Health business, and under Sunayana’s leadership, we are confident of delivering even greater value to our clients and partners.”

The announcement follows a series of recent appointments in the region, including the appointment of Pavel Huerta Uribe as Head of Property Underwriting Globals for APAC, earlier this month.
