AIA New Zealand has appointed Jonathan Beale as its new chief distribution officer, effective 19 January, the company announced in a news release. He succeeds Angela Busby, who retired as chief distribution officer last year.
Beale first joined AIA NZ in August 2025 as head of strategic accounts, tasked with enhancing adviser engagement and strengthening key partnerships. Prior, he was director of partnerships at Tower Insurance, after eight years at ASB, including as general manager for wealth.
In the capacity of chief distribution officer at AIA NZ, Beale will oversee business development across the insurer’s distribution channels, including retail distribution, strategic accounts, aligned advice, corporate solutions and the company’s partnership with ASB. He will also be responsible for distribution performance and supervision within AIA NZ.
“Jonathan brings an impressive depth of experience across distribution and partnerships, and we’re thrilled to have him step into this role,” AIA NZ CEO Nick Stanhope said of Beale’s appointment. “His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow our presence in the market and build a distribution network that is fit for the future.”
