Allianz Commercial has appointed Horace Gon as Deputy CEO for its Hong Kong Branch, effective 1 January 2025, the company announced in a statement. In addition to his new responsibilities, Gon retains his remit as Head of Financial Lines for Hong Kong and Greater China.

Gon first joined Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in July 2013 as Manager, Financial Institutions. He was then promoted in November 2017 to Head of Financial Lines for Hong Kong and Greater China.

In his expanded role, Gon reports to Patrick Zeng, CEO of Hong Kong and Greater China, Allianz Commercial. “In addition to his current financial lines responsibilities, Horace will take on client and distribution engagement responsibilities for the Hong Kong branch and work closely with the leadership team on further developing and executing strategies to grow the business,” Allianz said in its announcement.

Prior to Allianz Commercial, Gon served as Senior Underwriter at ACE Group and Investment Advisor at Edward Jones Investment.
