Allianz Commercial on Monday (17 June) announced that Vanessa Maxwell has been appointed Global Head of Cyber, with immediate effect.
Maxwell will remain Global Head of Financial Lines at Allianz Commercial, reporting to Shanil Williams, Chief Underwriting Officer. In her dual role, Maxwell will manage Cyber and Financial Lines as separate lines of business.
Maxwell brings over 20 years of experience in Financial Lines and Cyber to her new position. She joined Allianz Commercial as Global Head of Financial Lines from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) nearly two years ago. At BHSI, she served as Country Manager and Head of Executive and Professional Lines for the UK. Her prior experiences also include senior roles at AIG and Lexington Insurance Company.
Williams thanked Maxwell for taking on the newly created role and praised her ability to lead the Cyber and Financial Lines. “I have every confidence that she, and the Cyber leadership team will continue to build our presence in this area, in line with our ambitions of market leadership,” he said.
Maxwell succeeds Scott Sayce, who moved to a new role outside Allianz in June and Williams also expressed gratitude for Sayce’s contributions.
“I would like to thank Scott Sayce for the highly professional steering of Cyber under his leadership. During his time with us, he established Cyber as a strong presence within our book, growing it significantly and moving it to become a stand-alone Line of Business,” Williams said.
