Allianz Commercial has promoted Jenny Wilhelm to the newly created role of managing director, Singapore, and William Slade to regional head of distribution, Asia, effective 1 August.
Wilhelm first joined the group in 2017 and was most recently Allianz Commercial’s regional head of distribution for Asia. In her new role, she will oversee the company’s strategic growth and performance across Singapore, ASEAN and Sri Lanka.
She brings over 20 years of experience across the insurance and legal sectors. Before joining Allianz, she held senior roles at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and Chubb.
Slade succeeds Wilhelm as regional head of distribution, Asia. He was most recently the key relationships manager and head of portfolio solutions for the region.
He has been with the group for more than 12 years across Allianz UK, Allianz SE and Allianz Commercial. His recent work has focused on broker and client engagement in Asia and the rollout of portfolio solutions.
Commenting on the appointment, Christian Sandric said, “Jenny’s knowledge of the region coupled with her demonstrated experience in building a very successful business across Asia provides her with a great foundation to support the next phase of development for Allianz Commercial.”
On Slade, he said, “Since joining the Asia team, Will has contributed significantly to the development of our business and our core engagement with distribution partners and clients.”
The appointments follow other recent people moves at Allianz Commercial in Asia, including naming Awa Ketty-Camara as regional head of multinational for Asia, Masahide Naito as head of property for Japan, and Amy Zhong as assistant manager for the company’s global business operations unit, also in Japan.
