Allianz has appointed Ritu Arora as the new Country Head for India, effective immediately.
Arora has been with the Allianz Group since 2017, most recently serving as the CEO and CIO of Allianz Investment Management in the Asia Pacific region. She also performed as India advisor to Allianz SE’s board.
She brings extensive insurance industry experience. Before joining the Group, Arora had held numerous directorial roles at various firms, including MetLife India and Canara HSBC Life Insurance.
Commenting on her appointment, Arora said she is honoured to “lead the company as it moves into its next phase of growth in India,” adding that the country’s “strong economic progress and national vision of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’ presents a powerful opportunity to enhance financial resilience and security for millions of people.”
Her appointment comes as Allianz renews its presence in India through its new 50:50 reinsurance joint venture with Jio Financial Services, marking the Group’s return to new ventures in the market after parting with Bajaj earlier this year.
