Ansvar Insurance has elevated Alison Tighe to the newly created executive role of general manager, SME and underwriting operations, the Australian insurer announced.
Tighe joined Ansvar in 2021 and has held several leadership positions, most recently as head of underwriting performance. She has around 20 years of experience across insurance and financial services, with a background in underwriting, operations and business transformation.
Before joining Ansvar, she worked as a consultant at Employers Mutual Limited and held several management roles during long tenures at IAG and CGU Insurance.
The appointment follows an improvement in Ansvar’s underwriting performance in fiscal 2025. The insurer reported a combined ratio of 102.7% for the year without support from its stop-loss reinsurance programme with parent company Ecclesiastical Insurance Office.
Tighe’s promotion comes months after Ansvar appointed Jason Hammond as chief executive officer, succeeding Warren Hutcheon. Hammond joined the insurer earlier this year after more than 25 years of insurance experience.
In June, AM Best affirmed Ansvar’s Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-” (Excellent), both with stable outlooks.
