Peak Reinsurance Company Limited (Peak Re) has appointed Nattakorn (Natt) Wattanaumphaipong as head of distribution and partnerships and Sanjiv Agarwal as head of operations, effective 1 September, the reinsurer said on Wednesday.

Both hires are based in Hong Kong. Wattanaumphaipong brings more than two decades of reinsurance experience, having held senior leadership roles across property, agriculture, casualty and other lines in Asia-Pacific.

He joins from Great American Insurance Group, where he briefly served as head of the technical and specialty underwriting division. Before that, he spent several years at Canopius Group, managing the company’s property and casualty reinsurance and underwriting business across Asia-Pacific. Earlier in his career, he held a series of roles at Swiss Re Asia.

Agarwal joins Peak Re with nearly three decades of experience spanning operations, transformation, technology and people leadership in the financial services sector.

Most recently, he led the human resources function for Swiss Re across Southeast Asia and India. Having begun his career in operations, Agarwal carries extensive experience building and leading operations centres.

Commenting on the appointments, Victor Kuk, Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re, said, “Natt’s market expertise and relationships will strengthen the company’s client and broker engagement… while Sanjiv’s experience will help it to continue building a scalable platform for growth.”

The appointments gain significance as Peak Re has been expanding its presence across Asia-Pacific, supported by strong business growth.

The reinsurer reported gross written premiums of US$2.20bn in 2025, up 25% year-on-year, driven by growth in its property and life reinsurance portfolios, a sharp increase in business from India, and a larger contribution from Asia-Pacific, which accounted for more than half of the group’s premiums.

In H1 FY2026, the reinsurer’s gross written premiums rose 11.8% year-on-year to US$1.19bn while reinsurance revenue increased 25.0% to US$825.7m, according to unaudited interim results from parent Fosun International.

The latest appointment follows Kuk’s arrival at Peak Re in March, when he succeeded co-founder Franz-Josef Hahn after more than a decade as CEO.
