Aon has appointed Kevan Johnston as CEO of Australia, effective 1 April, the company announced in a media release.

Sydney-based Johnston will report to Jennifer Richards, the previous head of Australia who was recently promoted to CEO for Asia Pacific, and will work closely with her during the transition. He will also be part of Aon’s Asia Pacific Executive Committee.

“I am delighted to welcome Kevan into this role. His business acumen and comprehensive understanding of the insurance market positions him to lead Aon in Australia to continued success,” said Richards.

“Kevan is a demonstrated leader in our industry, with the proven ability to build collaborative and high-performing teams to solve clients’ emerging challenges in an evolving risk landscape,” she added.

Johnston brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry in Australia and the UK, holding senior leadership positions at JLT and Aon.

Within Aon’s Australian business, he has previously served as Chief Commercial Officer, Head of National for the mid-market segment, and currently as Head of Global and Corporate.
