Aon has promoted Neha Shah to head of life and health (L&H) reinsurance for India, Danny Alexander, the business’s APAC co-head of life reinsurance, announced on LinkedIn on Monday.

Shah joined Aon in January 2025 as chief actuary when the global broker officially launched its life and health reinsurance practice in the country, with the unit looking to provide long-term reinsurance capacity to the country’s L&H sector and support cross-border reinsurers seeking entry into the country, in line with the Indian government’s aims.

Before joining Aon, Shah led pricing for life and health at Gen Re, where she served for over three years. Her earlier roles include positions at PNB MetLife, Future Generali India, and RGA.

Her promotion comes as Aon looks to grow elsewhere in the region. Last week, the global broker announced it had received an insurance broker licence in Japan and established a new corporate insurance broking division.

The move adds to the business’s existing agency and human capital presence in Japan, with Tatsuya Yamamoto, head of Japan, commenting, “With our new broking capability and strengthened agency business, we’re building a hybrid model that capitalises on the advantages of each approach.”
