Aon Reinsurance Solutions has appointed Chettanart Boonphayoong and Yawapa Thiamthom as Treaty Directors in Thailand, the broker announced in a LinkedIn post.

Boonphayoong joined the broker in May, while Thiamthom took up the role this month.

Both executives join Aon from Lockton Wattana Insurance Brokers, where they held senior roles in the firm’s reinsurance division, focusing on treaty placements and client advisory in the Thai market.

Boonphayoong and Thiamthom will join an established team led by Panchit and Jukgrid, as Aon continues to expand its presence in the country. The broker named reinsurance veteran Jukgrid Treesuttamas as senior adviser for Thailand in April.

“Thailand is a key growth market for us in APAC, and we are committed to bringing the best talent and capabilities to our clients and partners here,” Musa Adlan, Managing Director, Aon Reinsurance Solutions Asia, said.

The appointments come as reinsurance conditions remain favourable following the April renewals. Global demand for reinsurance rose by around 10% while Asia Pacific markets saw rate reductions of up to 20%, supported by favourable catastrophe experience in Japan, South Korea and Thailand, Aon said in its report.
