The Ardonagh Group has named Andrew Minnitt as CEO of its Asia business, the broker said on Thursday.
Subject to regulatory approval, Minnitt will also serve as CEO of Price Forbes Singapore, reporting to Philip Johnson, chief commercial officer of Price Forbes and investor director for Ardonagh in Asia.
Minnitt has 35 years of insurance industry experience, including 22 years in the Asian market. He joins from Aon, where he was CEO of Aon Singapore and Head of Southeast Asia.
Des O’Connor, Ardonagh Group’s chief commercial officer, said Asia is “one of the most dynamic and competitive insurance markets globally” and noted that the company sees strong opportunity to expand its presence in key hubs and emerging markets across the region.
“Andrew Minnitt is one of Asia’s leading business leaders and his experience across complex, high-growth markets, makes him ideally placed to accelerate our growth in the region.”
Johnson says that the business remains focused on building the leading specialist broker in Asia, adding, “I am delighted to be handing over the reins to Andrew Minnitt, who will lead the business through its next phase of accelerated growth.”
Minnitt’s appointment comes amid a series of key appointments by the group and specifically within Price Forbes this year, as the business looks to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pac region. These include a newly created treaty team alongside four senior hires, the appointment of Rajiv Ramakrishnan as head of A&H for the region, and Suvimol Sathanart as head of property for Asia.
