The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has appointed announced Nick Cook from Steadfast Group as its new President, following its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Sydney today.

Cook has held key positions at Steadfast Group since 2015 and currently serves as Executive General Manager for Australasian Networks, Broker & Insurer Services.

He succeeds Gary Okely from JLT Public Sector, whose term as President has concluded. However, Okely will remain on the NIBA Board as a Director.

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin acknowledged Okely’s contributions and welcomed Cook, “On behalf of our members, I would like to thank Gary for his contribution to NIBA as the President and the significant impact he has made during his tenure. We are delighted that Gary will continue on the Board as the Immediate Past President, providing his invaluable insights, guidance and leadership.”

Cook also spoke of his appointment while commending Okely’s contributions, sharing “I look forward to working closely with the NIBA Board, our key partners, and industry stakeholders in building upon the great work under Garyʼs leadership, advocating on behalf of our members and the interests of brokers across Australia.”
