AXA XL has named Thomas Saive as head of underwriting motor, APAC & Europe, effective March 1, the (re)insurer announced in a statement on Monday.

In his new role, Saive will oversee the underwriting strategy for motor insurance across the two regions, while also managing the French market directly.

He first joined AXA Corporate Solutions in 2011 as casualty underwriter for France and Benelux. In 2015, he moved to AXA Gie as risk manager, P&C underwriting and reserving. Most recently, he served as head of reserving in the risk function at AXA XL.

“Thomas brings 15 years of insurance experience and a deep understanding of our clients’ changing risks,” said Stéphane Tinturier, head of casualty for AXA XL in France. “He is ideally positioned to lead our motor business and support our clients, both at regional level and in the French market.”
