Singapore-headquartered insurtech firm bolttech on Wednesday announced that it has appointed Kohei Watanabe as general manager for Japan as the company strengthens its Asia leadership team.
He brings over 25 years of experience across P&C insurance and technology-led businesses, specializing in go-to-market execution, enterprise sales, and building partnerships in Japan. He was most recently strategic account manager for Japan at ICEYE, a Finland‑headquartered space‑technology company serving the insurance sector.
Watanabe has also held senior leadership roles at Liberty Specialty Markets (Asia-Pacific), Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., and Tokio Marine KILN Insurance. He is also founder and chairman of Global Community, a business community with 2,000 members who aspire to be global business professionals.
In his new role based in Tokyo, Watanabe will lead bolttech’s Japan strategy, including profit and loss across domestic and international operations, and work closely with key strategic partners, including Tokio Marine and Sumitomo Corporation.
