Allianz Partners has appointed Carsten Staat as regional managing director for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, effective 1 August, the company announced on Thursday.
Staat will report to Jacob Fuest, chief markets officer of Allianz Partners. He has been with Allianz Group since 2001, holding several leadership roles across the organisation, most recently as managing director of Allianz Partners Germany.
Staat succeeds Vinay Surana, who has led the APAC and MEA business for the past six years. Surana will become senior adviser to Allianz Partners chief executive officer Tomas Kunzmann from 1 August until the end of the year.
Commenting on the appointment, Fuest said: “Carsten’s ability to drive high-performing teams, create long-lasting partnerships, and deliver sustainable growth makes him an invaluable asset as we enter this next chapter for APAC and MEA. I have every confidence he will achieve exceptional results for our customers, partners, and people across the region.”
The appointment follows recent leadership moves across Allianz Group’s APAC operations, including Masahide Naito as head of property and Amy Zhong as assistant manager, global business operations, both for Allianz Commercial Japan.
