Chubb today announced the appointment of David Morrow as its new Country President for New Zealand. Morrow, who previously held the position of Head of Property and Casualty (P&C) for Chubb New Zealand, steps into the role with immediate effect.
He succeeds Andrew Brooks, who has departed the company, and will report to Peter Kelaher, Chubb’s Country President for Australia and New Zealand.
In a company announcement, Chubb said that Morrow will oversee the strategic direction, product development, business growth, and underwriting for Chubb’s general insurance business in New Zealand. This encompasses commercial P&C, traditional and specialty personal lines, and accident and health insurance sectors.
Morrow brings over 27 years of experience in the GI industry to his new role including 15 years at Chubb serving in various leadership capacities. His time at Chubb includes 10 years working across Asia in Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan, including as Head of Property and Casualty.
Kelaher commented on the appointment, “I’m pleased to appoint David to lead our New Zealand general insurance operations. David’s tenure with us has been marked by progressive leadership, showcasing his ability to steer our business with excellence.”
He added that Morrow’s expansive network and deep understanding of Chubb and the general insurance industry would help the insurer to capitalise on growth opportunities in the New Zealand market.
