Chubb on Tuesday announced the promotion of Kate Burke to Head of International Personal Lines (IPL), Asia Pacific, effective from 1 May 2024.
In her new role, Burke will lead the strategic expansion of Auto, Residential, Specialty, and High Net Worth business lines throughout Chubb’s operations in Asia Pacific, the insurer said in a statement.
She will operate from Singapore, with dual reporting lines to Ben Howell, Head of Consumer for Asia Pacific, and John Thompson, Division President for International Personal Lines.
Burke brings over 17 years of industry experience to her new role, including a decade in travel insurance, covering claims, customer service, and business development.
Before her promotion, Burke served as Head of Residential, Personal Risk Solutions, and Specialty Personal Lines for APAC, where she has played a key role in strategic business growth and partnership development across the region, Chubb said.
She has held various leadership roles within Chubb’s Singapore business, including Head of Travel and Division Head of IPL, Prior to joining Chubb in 2017, she was Regional Portfolio Manager for Travel, Asia Pacific at Cover-More Group.
Howell, commented on Burke’s elevated position, “With a track record of leading high-performing teams, Kate’s keen customer focus and proven ability to set and execute growth strategies will help us capture significant personal lines opportunities across our Asia Pacific markets.”
