Crawford Australia announced on Tuesday (10 Sep) that Matt Donnelly will be promoted to Head of Specialty Loss Adjusting, effective from 1 November.
Donnelly, who has over 30 years of experience, is currently the Head of Global Technical Services (GTS) at the global loss adjuster and will succeed Craig McLeod, who is transitioning to the newly created role of Head of Quality & People Development for Crawford’s Loss Adjusting businesses.
In his new role, Donnelly reports to Crawford Australia President Jonathan Hubbard and his responsibilities will expand to include the entire Specialty Loss Adjusting portfolio, which encompasses commercial and liability claims, construction, energy and marine sector claims, and Crawford Forensic Accounting Services.
“We have internal targets when it comes to promoting from within, but of course we will only ever appoint from our own ranks where the candidate is the best person for the position; I’m totally confident Matt will be superb in this role,” Hubbard said.
“I am looking forward to welcoming Matt to the Executive Leadership table as we continue taking our Specialty Loss Adjusting business from strength to strength,” he added.
On his expanded remit, Donnelly expressed team development and cohesion as a priority, commenting, “Right now, we have an ideal balance of young talent and highly experienced adjusters who complement each other; I want to maintain this across all our speciality service lines into the future.”
Donnelly’s career at Crawford began in 2004, where he worked as an adjuster for over 12 years, including serving as Operations Manager for GTS. He left the business in 2016, and held General Manager roles at two building companies servicing the insurance industry before rejoining Crawford in September last year. He was promoted to the national Head of GTS role in May.
