Global specialty (re)insurer Canopius has announced a series of hires for its global Credit & Political Risk team, including the Asia Pacific appointment of Dimitri Plastiras as Underwriter.

Plastiras will start his new role in February, initially working from Sydney before moving to Singapore later in the year.

The group also welcomed Angelos Deftereos as Head of Structured Credit and Boris Medimorec and Virad Patel as Underwriters in its Credit & Political Risk team in London.

Plastiras brings significant expertise to Canopius and the insurance industry, drawing from his role at KPMG as Associate Director for Debt Advisory Services and a 12-year stint at Westpac, where he gained extensive knowledge in areas such as structured asset finance and trade Finance.
