Allianz Commercial has announced that Dirk Vogler will assume the post of Chief Regions & Markets Officer 1 by October 1st.
Voegler is presently serving as Chief MidCorp Transformation Officer and in his new role he will take on the responsibility of managing Allianz Commercial markets in Asia, Germany & Switzerland, Central & Eastern Europe, Benelux & Nordics, Southern Europe, and Iberia.
He replaces Henning Haagen, who after a 15-year career at Allianz, has decided to pursue professional opportunities outside the company. Haagen’s departure will result in the AGCS SE’s Board of Management shrinking from nine to eight members.
In a statement, Allianz Commercial said the changes to its Board of Management align with its new Integrated Commercial strategy, to incorporate the Allianz Mid Corporate (MidCorp) business into its Large Corporate (LargeCorp) and Specialty portfolios, as part of a comprehensive market approach spanning across its eleven regions of operation.
Vogler will oversee this incorporation in accordance with Allianz Group’s strategy and will also supervise the multinational business of Allianz Commercial, led by Guy Money.
Additionally, the Allianz Commercial Distribution team headed by Global Head of Distribution, Jeremy Sharpe, will now report directly to Allianz Commercial CEO Joachim Mueller.
On the restructure, Mueller commented, “This change reflects the evolution of our business and the equal importance of the MidCorp business alongside LargeCorp and Specialty in Allianz Commercial. Dirk brings an unusual combination of experience to this position, including extensive MidCorp expertise.”
On the outgoing Vogler, he added, “I want to thank Henning for the leading role he has
played over many years at Allianz, and especially since joining the Board of Management in
2020 at the start of the NEW AGCS program. He has been a strong contributor to AGCS’s
successful turnaround, and we all wish him well in his next professional steps.”
