Everest Insurance International (EG) appointed Swee Keong Mah as Interim Regional Head of Insurance, Asia, replacing Ben Carey, in a global reorganisation of the executive team, in which some key positions were replaced.
Mah, who has been serving the company as Head of Legal for Asia Pacific, will continue in that position in addition to his new role.
According to the company, headquartered in Bermuda, Mah played a crucial role in developing Singapore operations in 2022.
“We welcome Swee Keong, whose deep roots and commitment to the Singapore market position him well to lead our expanding team and client relationships across the region,” said Adam Clifford, co-lead at Everest Insurance International.
“We are grateful for Ben’s leadership and guidance through the launch of our primary insurance business in Singapore and wish him great success in his future endeavors. I look forward to working with Ben in the transition of his responsibilities,” he added.
Before joining Everest, Mah held general counsel positions at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, including Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance for Asia and the Middle East.
Mah holds a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Business Administration from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Other appointments
EG also appointed Véronique Brionne as Insurance Head of Europe and Martyn Benson as Head of Operations. Brionne will be based in Paris and Benson will be based in London. Both will report to Clifford, and will serve as members of the division’s International Leadership Group.
