Global reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has announced the promotion of Sie Liang Lau to the role of Head of Asia Pacific Cyber.
Lau, who has over 20 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, has been promoted from his role of Head of Analytics, Rest of Asia. He will continue to be stationed in Singapore, where he will spearhead the company’s cyber insurance initiatives across the Asia Pacific region.
Lau is a UK-qualified actuary, and his expertise spans actuarial, capital and risk management, cyber insurance, Insurtech, and long-tail lines. Prior to joining Gallagher Re in May 2023, Lau spent over 12 years at reinsurer SCOR, and his experience also includes time at a UK insurer and a Lloyd’s Syndicate.
Mark Morley, Head of APAC at Gallagher Re, congratulated Lau on his new role, as the reinsurance broker looks to strengthen its cyber insurance presence in the APAC region.
