Howden has appointed Anthony Sang Churl Hong as head of surety for Asia, the broker announced in a LinkedIn post on Friday.
Based in Singapore, Hong will lead the growth of Howden’s surety business across Asia, working closely with Edmund Arghand, head of credit, political risk and surety for Asia, and Azman Noorani, global practice leader for surety.
Hong joins after more than six years at Aon, where he most recently served as global surety and Korean ECAs lead. His career spans nearly two decades across surety, trade credit and structured credit solutions, including previous roles at AIG, Lockton Companies and Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company.
Jenny Lim, chief executive officer of Howden Singapore, said Hong’s technical expertise and understanding of Asian markets would support the company’s ambitions for regional surety growth. “His deep technical expertise and strong understanding of Asian markets will be a significant asset as we continue to grow our surety capabilities in Singapore and across the region,” she said.
